Buy wines en Primeur

If the notion of wines "en Primeur" means the immediate consumption of young wines recently bottled in the majority of the wine-producing regions of France, it is not the same in the region of Bordeaux there.

Indeed, most of the Grand Crus Classés of Bordeaux put on sale their wines before even their breeding in barrels. This sale takes place approximately 6 in 8 months after the harvest with the brokers of the place of Bordeaux. After tastings of the market players of the wine (oenologists, traders, wine stewards, journalists and specialized retailers) wines are bought and proposed in the sale in Scoops to the private individuals but also to the restaurant owners and the wine merchants.

This purchase "early" allows the buyer to acquire wines at the best price and exclusive of tax approximately from 18 to 24 months before the breeding and the bottling. At the end of this period, the buyer pay the current VAT and sees delivering. According to the vintage, this practice can show itself an excellent bargain, because the prices of certain wines can increase quickly once put on the sets of shelves of the professionals.

Interested in this system, certain small Châteaux put themselves in the sale in Scoops to develop loyalty of new customers.
